JUNE LETTER FROM THE RACE CHAIR

We are looking forward to welcoming over 250 boats to Chicago this July. As many of you are readying your boats, celebrating the warmer weather and the opening of the Harbors - I wanted to remind you that a few key deadlines are fast approaching for the 114th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac presented by Wintrust. 

  • June 15 - Late Entry Deadline
  • July 1 - Entry Deadline for the Team Challenge for the Point Betsie Trophy

SHORE BAG DELIVERY SERVICE 

As an exclusive benefit of membership, Chicago Yacht Club will transport one airline carry-on size shore bag from the Chicago Yacht Club's Monroe Station to Mackinac Island for each member at no cost.

Members can check one additional bag for $25.

Non-Members can check one bag at $35.

All persons checking bags must be race participants.

RETURN FROM MAC BUS

The Chicago Yacht Club has partnered with Windy City Transportation to take weary sailors from Mackinaw City to Chicago after the race and festivities. The motor coaches are comfortable, air conditioned and stocked with a supply of refreshments for your trip back to Chicago.

All coaches will return to the Chicago Yacht Club's Monroe Station only. There are no coaches returning to Belmont Station. The buses will make no personal stops other than one scheduled stop for lunch and a restroom break.

Wednesday, July 26, four buses will depart from the Star Line dock in Mackinaw City at 10 a.m. A later bus will depart from the same locale at 2 p.m.

Team Challenge for the Point Betsie Trophy 

Reminder: Applications are now open for the Team Challenge for the Point Betsie Trophy. In order to   compete, teams of three monohull boats join together to race against other three-boat teams. The team of boats with the best combined percentage placement in their divisions will prevail. To be eligible, teams must be formed from boats racing in at least two of the three monohull divisions and may have no more than one cruising division boat. Additionally, a boat may only participate on one team. Completed applications are due no later than July 1st.
